"...those were the heady, hippy, somewhat wild and often penniless years.."
30 years ago, the late Lino Monteiro did what many just fantasize about doing. He chucked up his job in the crowded city of Mumbai and moved to Goa to live his dream.
Here he purchased a plot of land in Baga, facing a sand dune and fields behind it with an awful lot of cactus to cut…… recalls his son and current owner Marius, who was then just a schoolboy helping his dad.
This is where Goa's much loved jewel Cavala now stands.
For over 30 years, this seaside resort has charmed both travelers and locals alike with its blend of old world hospitality, modern comfort and an ambience that is as addictive as the local brew Feni that keeps you coming back for more.
